NBMC AT A GLANCE

At NBMC, we know that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through our public initiatives. Our Non-Profit Organization brings together counsellors, organizers and community members to overcome the isolation fostered by age differences, cultural dislocation, discrimination and more recently, the Covid pandemic.

"Ana has excellent skills in bringing us together as a group and giving everyone the chance to express their concerns and feel understood."

WHAT WE DO

Fostering greater cross-cultural and intergenerational links is our primary task. We seek to support, empower and provide high quality resources to our community in a safe and secure environment, staging direct engagement through volunteering, events and programs. Our success isn’t measured in terms of a profit margin, but by the comfort we provide to those we serve and the community cohesion we help to build.

SENIOR SUPPORT

No one should be isolated because of their age or health conditions. We offer a mix of programs and services for senior community members, including exercise classes, walking groups, exclusive lunches, roundtables, counselling and interpreting services for those speaking languages other than English.

LANGUAGE LEARNING

If you want to improve your English skills, join us for conversational classes on topics important for older adults, including optimal health, local community services, seniors' rights, preserving mental functioning, improving relationships and more.

GROUPS AND WORKSHOPS

We organize workshops for a variety of groups on a number of topics. Whether you're a young person interested in philosophy, a carer looking to better manage stress, a senior wanting to foster independence or anyone looking to manage anxiety, loss and life transitions, we have a workshop for you, led by a qualified counsellor.

OUR SPONSORS

These organisations have been so kind as to provide us with funding and support.
